Disposal of household PCs raises the concern over important private data stored in the hard disk. Hard disks found in PCs collected for recycling are, after disassembly, break the hard disk promptly.

Consumers who wish to prevent data leakage from disposal are recommended to exercise one's own responsibility to delete data.

Data is not deleted
  • Moving data into "Trash/Recycling Bin"
  • Executing "delete"
  • Deleting with "Empty Trash/Recycling Bin"
  • Formatting disk with software
  • Restoring PC to default with Recovery CD
These conventional "delete" methods lead the user to believe that the data no longer exists, but data is actually not deleted in most cases.
