PCs (including monitors) without a manufacturer to collect them are as follows:
- Homemade PCs, (either by the user, an acquaintance or a paid contractor.) If you purchased a completed homemade PC from a retailer, apply to that retailer to have your PC collected.
- PCs made or imported and sold by companies that are not longer in business, or that have withdrawn from the monitor and computer business in Japan.
The above definition excludes manufacturers who are participating in our center’s scheme in order to collect and recycle previously discontinued products. Note that even if a PC has a recycling mark, it can be collected and reprocessed by our center if the manufacturer is no longer in business. However, in such cases the user will be liable for the designated collection and recycling fee.
- PCs manufactured by companies that do not operate in Japan, which were imported or, purchased overseas and brought into Japan by an individual.
If your PC was manufactured by an overseas company with operations in Japan, contact the manufacturer’s Japanese branch or the importer / retailer for information.
- If there is no manufacturer to collect your PC, and it does not correspond to one of the above categories, please contact the center before applying.
